Wish list: Now I'm home

I've had enough time now to sit down and browse through some blogs. And I think my wallet wishes I hadn't! There's so much I need to catch up on beauty wise, and it couldn't come at a worse time... when I don't have an income!

Wishlist

1. Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette            2. Benefit lollitint
3. L'orel Paris False Lash Butterfly Wings mascara             4. MAC lipstick in Saint Germain
 5. Nars blush in Gilda

I must have been living under a rock for a month because I have only just noticed the Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette. This is seriously pretty! I really love how the 2 highlight shades are bigger, because I end up using up the highlight shades way quicker than any other. The shade range is beautiful. You can never have too many neutral palettes, right?

Lollitint came out a while back now, and I have had a chance to look at it in store. It's gorgeous! I think it's the perfect shade for a tint. Light pink with a hint of lavender. I have one benefit tint, which I don't really use, but I think I would get a good deal of use out of this.

I confess, I'm someone who doesn't throw their mascaras out every 6 months. I throw them out when they start drying up and not working as well as they used to. I'm at a point where most of my mascaras are getting to that stage, so I'm starting to look at a new mascara. This one really caught my eye. I have seen an add for it, and I really wish they wouldn't use fake lashes to advertise mascara! The plastic wand is the type I like, and I love the idea of the winged brush.

I wish I bought more MAC lipsticks overseas, but there weren't any that stuck out as something I needed. Until I got home and decided I need more light pinks. Saint Germain seems like the perfect pink to fill the (rather small) void in my lipstick collection, it just sucks that they're so much more expensive in Australia! I might need to look up some dupes!

Lastly, as you saw in my previous post, I've fallen in love with Nars blushes. A trip to Mecca is in order I think, but I've had a look online and Gilda really stuck out to me. I love orange toned blushes, peaches and corals are my favourite.

What I wore: Confetti dress

excuse the duck face

I bought this dress towards the end of last year off Modcloth and I really love it. It was reduced from like $90, and I was contemplating buying it at full price, but then it went on sale for half price! I had to get it then, but left it too late and they had sold out of my size. Just when I was about to order it a size down, my size came back on sale! Fate! It is a little frumpy, the bust is huuuge! I could probably get it tailored but I don't really mind. Possibly the best thing about it, after the awesome print that makes me think of confetti, is that it has pockets! It's still been reasonably warm here. We had a nice week where it was really cool, but now it's hot again. I really really cant wait for the weather to cool down more so I can start wearing tights and cardigans again (I bought some lovely scarfs and a granny jumper that reminds me of Grifindor from work recently and I can't wait to be able to wear them!).

Products:
Nude by Nature Undercover Airbrush Mineral Primer
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 51
Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Peach Glow
Essence Renesmee Red Blush
MUA Shimmer Kisses Bronzer
MUA Pro-Brow eyebrow kit
L'Oreal Color Infallible Tender Caramel
MUA Undressed palette shade 1 and 4
MUA single matte shadow shade 19
Revlon Photoready 3D volume Mascara
Ulta3 Lipliner in Honey Bun
MAC Angel
This is basically what I've been doing with my face lately! Neutral eyes and lip, no liner, bronzer. I dug Tender Caramel out recently because for some reason I didn't get much use from it after i bought it and I've been loving it lately! Same goes for the Revlon 3D volume mascara, for some reason it sat in my draw unloved... but it gives amazing length (not so sure about volume though). The formula is a little wet and I've managed to poke my eye with it more than once, so it took a little to warm up to it. I've also dug out my Essence Renesmee Red blush from the Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 collection, which I hid because it's scary lookin'. Candice from YouReview inspired me to give it another go after reading this post and I've been applying it with a very light hand and we've been getting along ever since. The Rimmel Stay Matte is a new purchase and so far, so good!

Today I'm going to my university graduation! 3 years of hard work (ok, just work) and I get a degree! Yipee!

What have you been wearing a lot lately?

L'Oreal color infallible eyeshadow review +FOTD

If you read my recent wish list, you'll see I've been lusting after one of the eyeshadows from the Miss Candy collection after seeing them on Makeup and Macaroons. After looking in Priceline with no luck, I decided to check out Target. I found their Miss Candy stand fully stocked, AND 25% off! Win! I love all the colours in the collection but decided to go with the 2 most wearable ones, Tender Caramel and Innocent Turquoise. I also managed to pick up an Australis Ready to Mingle set for $5 (Australis has been discontinued from Target and they had heaps of Australis on sale, but most things weren't cheap enough), Maybelline babylips in pink blast (because I've somehow lost the other million babylips I owned) and had an embarrassing moment in the counter where I had accidentally picked up the tester instead of a new eyeshadow (whoops!!). Anyway, onto the actual product.

These eyeshadows are so creamy and pigmented and just all round lovely. They last a long time on your lids without creasing or smudging (They didn't even budge when I had a bit of a cry when my car broke down).  They're both iridescent and Innocent Turquoise has hints of gold through the pan, but they don't show up when used. I've also found that Tender Caramel works great as a base for a neutral smokey eye look.

I used both eyeshadows when I went to work the other day, with Tender Caramel all over the lid, and Innocent Turquoise as a liner. I really like using this colour as a liner, and think it adds a nice subtle bit of colour.

What I used
Bourjois healthy mix foundation in 51
Benefit Girl Meets Pearl
Benefit Sugarbomb blush
L'Oreal color infallible eyeshadow in Tender Caramel
L'Oreal color infallible eyeshadow in Innocent Turquoise
Covergirl lashblastvolume mascara
The Body Shop lipstick in 48

Now, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I really like these eyeshadows and would consider buying more (especially the other's from Miss Candy, if on sale), however I know L'Oreal are known to conduct animal testing. I try to buy cruelty free whenever I can (sometimes I can't resist temptation, which is why I could never be a vegetarian, or rich) but lately I've bought a few products from another brand who don't claim to be cruelty free (Revlon). I've done a lot of reading and it does seem that things surrounding animal testing are a lot better than they used to be (a lot of companies claim they only conduct animal testing when required by law, which I think seems a bit fishy if other companies can manage to be cruelty free). However I would still rather buy from brands that actually have the cruelty free logo on their products (which isn't all that hard, seeing as Australis, Face of Australia and Covergirl are all cruelty free).

Wish list: future purchases

Lately there's a few things on my wish list. I guess this is more a shopping list, because I do plan on actually purchasing most of these items in the near future.

Wish list

1. OCC lip tar in pageant and trollop
2. China Glaze Holiday Joy set Wings of Wonder containing Blue Bells Ring, Champagne Kisses and Cranberry Splash
3. L'Oreal Miss Candy collection color infallible eyeshadow in Innocent Turquoise
4. The Body Shop Cranberry Joy body polish
 5. The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle shimmer lotion
 6. Covergirl Liquiline blast eyeliner in Blackfire and Violet Voltage.

I've been wanting to get an OCC lip tar ever since I first read about them. They sell them on the bellabox web shop and out of the few they sell, I really like Pageant and Trollop and will purchase them next time I want to get something from a box (to get free shipping). For some reason, I'm totally in love with the China Glaze Holiday Joy collection! I've never even used China Glaze before but I want to get y hands on all of them. This gift set coincidentally contains 3 of my favourite shades from the collection! However, I did buy some Ulta3 polishes that look like they could be dupes of these so I'm going to hold off on getting these.  I read about the L'Oreal Miss Candy collection from the blog Makeup and Macaroons and knew I had to have some of the eyeshadows. I haven't tried the color infallible eyeshadows before so hopefully I manage to get my hands on some before they stop selling the collection (I had a look in Priceline with no luck). As you've seen in my November favourites post, I love The Body Shop Christmas collection. I think I've finally decided that the Cranberry Joy body polish and the Ginger sparkle shimmer lotion are the products I will buy. I've been looking for a good, relatively cheap, purple eyeliner ever since I got a makeover at The Body Shop (I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on The Body Shop branded one). I've heard good things about the Covergirl liquiline blast eyeliners, so I'm keen to try the black and purple shades. (Between writing and posting this I managed to buy Australis 10 hour wear eyeliner in grape cake, but I'd still like to try the black Covergirl eyeliner).

What things have you got on your shopping list? Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them?
